Front End Flash Developer

Eveo Communication Group, Inc. (ECG) is a leading provider of digital/interactive marketing solutions for the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Equipment industries.

We are currently looking for an exceptionally talented Front End Flash Developer with extensive Flash and AS3 experience, and a solid sense of motion and design.

The animator will lead, train, and act as mentor for a team of junior flash designers in transforming established art direction into richly animated interactive experiences. The animator will act as liaison to the engineering department in developing Flash and AS3 best-practices for coding animation, integrating Flash assets with Flex, managing files and libraries across multiple projects, and keeping abreast of new technologies for creating striking, functional user experiences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of agency experience and formal design training with interactive design skills, and advanced knowledge of the latest versions of Flash, AS3, and related libraries. Motion graphics and 3D animation experience are a huge plus, as are experience with Photoshop and Illustrator.

SKILLS:

• Experience working in a multimedia environment with designers and developers

• Solid, proven brand experience

• Strong sense of design and motion

• Ability to produce exceptional work in extremely tight timeframes

• Team oriented and self motivated

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Position Summary

As a Flash/Java Script Developer you will employ your creativity to develop fun games using Flash and current web technologies. CrowdStar is hiring! The social gaming space is exploding with growth and CrowdStar is one of the top companies leading the charge. Unlike our competitors, we’re still small at roughly 60 employees, and have been innovators in the social games genres. Popular titles like CrowdStar’s Happy Aquarium and Happy Island were key games in kick starting the recent trend of fishbowl and tropical resort games that are now pervasive on Facebook. At this point, we have 3 highly urgent roles that need to be filled: Operations Engineer; Data Warehouse Architect; and Flash Developer (contract)

Our offices are in Burlingame, CA on the Peninsula, next to SFO Airport. We have a company shuttle from San Francisco and we’re just 2 blocks from Cal Train. DATA WAREHOUSE ARCHITECT

Our Business Intelligence (BI) team is growing quickly and we need a Data Warehouse Architect and Engineer who will own these ares and more:

• Capture and organize game data from 100′s of sources including SQL, Mongo, Vertica, and 3rd Party Cloud data

• Use non-SQL as well as SQL technologies for data capture and processing

• Improve our own Analytics cloud solution

• Process platform data from Facebook, MySpace, etc

• Build a data cleansing and consistency system

• Offer fresh reports with ideal visualization

• Create an analytic system that allows business people to mine our data deeply

Requirements

• At least an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or an Engineering Major (Computer preferred but not required)

• At least 4 years of experience working with SQL, Data Marts, and Data Warehouses

• Visualization of massive data sets

• A positive attitude and good communication skills

• Ability to work onsite

OPERATIONS ENGINEER

As an Operations Engineer, your role will be to perform in the following capacity:

• Actively participate in the engineering process we have applied to site operations

• Help improve our uptime and scalability through better processes, infrastructure, and automation

• Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, applications and network provide support of the local IT infrastructure

• Configure servers and networks

• Continually document and expose configuration processes and policies

• Prioritize tasks and work independently, while interacting with other product and engineering teams

• Share on-call duties with other engineers on the team, to ensure smooth 24×7 operation of our top-100 site

Requirements:

• Experience in high scale web site operations/data center environments

• Fluent in Linux/Unix with open source familiarity

• Good knowledge of PHP/MYSQL

• Experience with x86 servers, switches, routers, load-balancers, storage systems, etc.

• Understanding/experience of TCP/IP, HTTP, security, storage, SQL databases, memcached etc.

• Experience with LAMP/open-source stacks, particularly around performance tuning and troubleshooting errors

• You are someone who prefers automation over repetition

• You see projects through to their completion

• Ability to work onsite

FLASH CONTRACTOR

As a Flash Contractor, you will be responsible for:

• Actively participate in modifying the existing code base for compatibility with other platforms

• Working with and learning various APIs outside of Facebook

• Implement fixes and optimization for the porting of titles

• Work collaboratively with other members of the engineering and management team.

Requirements:

• Superlative experience with Flash development (preferably in games using AS3)

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a break neck environment

• Programming intuition with respect to various social platforms

• Ability to initially work onsite.

Project is slated for 2-4 weeks.

Position Overview

You will be part of the Quality Engineering effort for an innovative new tool, Flash Catalyst, that enables designers and creatively inclined developers to easily build rich internet applications and interactive content without writing code. Your main focus will be a combination of White box and Black box QA activities for the features assigned to you for testing.

Flash Catalyst streamlines the process of adding interactivity, behavior and motion to creative assets and works seamlessly with both Adobe’s Creative Suite tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash, and with developer oriented tools such as Flash Builder. Flash Catalyst is a strategic project for Adobe. It will enable designers to more efficiently build the richer experiences that are reshaping the internet and give developers greater control over creative assets without leaving the development paradigm that fits the way they work. We are seeking a Software QE Developer with a strong background in white box testing (using object oriented languages like Java) and if possible experience with web application development and creative tools like Illustrator/Fl Pro/InDesign.

Responsibilities

• For owned feature areas, work with software developers on the design and specification of features.

• Engage actively with customers to get feedback on your features through forums.

• Develop and execute thorough test plans, write well commented functional automated tests for the assigned features.

Extend if necessary unit tests for improved functional coverage. Execute tests manually till all automated tests are written and running frequently.

• Write easy-to-understand bugs: detailed steps to reproduce and expected/actual outcome.

• Triage incoming bugs in assigned feature areas to decide priorities and milestones to fix it in.

• Be responsible to give final quality approval for assigned features.

• Provide recommendation for final go/no-go for the product.

• Participate in infrastructure, tools, scripts to automate manual tasks is needed.

Research common web application scenarios, new web technologies, and incorporate that new knowledge into your ongoing

QA process, scenario, workflow testing.

Requirements :

• Four-year Engineering degree or equivalent. [Computer Science]

• Expert understanding of software development and quality methodologies

• Excellent analytical capabilities, ability to solve complex engineering, workflow/usability problems

• Minimum of three years software quality engineering experience, ideally with software tools, of which minimum of two year of white box QE experience.

• Hands on knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Java, Flex [Actionscript/MXML]

• Hands on knowledge of at least one of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash Pro

• Experience designing, creating, and producing real-world web sites/applications using Flex or Flash.

• Desire to be part of a highly productive, fast-paced team. Genuine enjoyment of QE work.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organized and self-driven.

Nice to have :

• Experience with JUnit or other Java/Flex test frameworks, developer IDE [e.g.Flex Builder]

• Experience with UI automation technologies. E.g. Silkrunner, Mercury QuickTestPro, Test works etc.

• Exposure to test automation tools, framework/harness, scripting

Senior Flash Designer (Bellevue)

Do you have a fresh, modern approach to design? Are you a natural leader with innate creative talent? FILTER has a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Senior Flash Designer. This position is with a well-known online travel company located in Bellevue.

This role will work with the creative team to produce visual design solutions for various rich media design projects. It’s important that the Senior Flash Designer have the ability to think long-term and to build flexible assets.

We’re looking for someone who has previous led a team or project and has a combination of both corporate and agency-side experience. In order to land this gig, you must have senior-level ActionScript 2 and 3 skills, the ability to multitask, prioritize and work with multiple stakeholders and to work within style and brand guidelines.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Working with the creative team to produce visual design solutions for various rich media design projects; Leading large and complex projects
• Leading brainstorming and concepting sessions
• Collaborating with business partners, copywriters and the interaction and technical teams to identify solutions that meet project objectives, define scope and give level of effort estimates
• Supporting the various lines of business with Flash integration within their existing project roadmaps
• Ensuring visual design works in the web environment
• Presenting creative to stakeholders, clients and executives

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• 5-7 years of experience working with Web advertising
• Expert-level Flash and ActionScripting abilities required
• Proven experience working with technical production and Flash development teams
• Tremendous understanding of online advertising and rich media best practices
• Solid knowledge of the interactive design process, from requirements gathering to interaction design to visual design to development and production
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, web design principles, color theory, typography
• Effective communication skills, excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
